The Yeppoon Lions Tropical Pinefest has been held for over 50 years.

October each year many events are held to celebrate Pinefest in this wonderful community.

Each year, the theme for Pinefest changes. What will it be in 2025?

BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY DECORATING

In the lead-up to Pinefest, many businesses craft creative displays following the theme for the year.

ART EXHIBITION

The Creative Generation Excellence in Visual Arts Regional Exhibition – Hosted at the Emu Park Art Gallery- Exhibition usually runs in the lead up to Pinefest. This is a great opportunity to see the local talent.

Gala Event

Usually the Friday ahead of the weekend events, Pinefest moves into full swing with the annual feature gala event. Keep an eye and ear out for what is ahead in 2025.

BEACHFRONT MARKETS AND ENTERTAINMENT

On the Saturday of Pinefest, right on the beach front, stall holders showcase and retail their diverse creations. The markets usually run between 11.30 am to 8.00 pm.

STREET PARADE

One of the main feature events is the annual street parade. The street parade is a showcase of creativity following the annual theme. Vehicles big and small, powered and human powered…

Entrance to the street parade is free

The parade usually runs along the main street (James Street) from 3pm to 4pm with no registration form or fee, simply join the fun! Floats are requested to marshal at the western end of James St from 2pm with judging from 2.15pm.

  • Grand Champion
  • Champion Theme
  • Champion Business
  • Champion Most Colourful
  • Champion School, Club or Community Group
  • Champion Most Comical

This is a no trace event, which requires all participants to take home, all items.

Safety measures:

Parade entry conditions include that no missiles of any kind are thrown such as flour and water bombs. All elements of your float must be secured to reduce risk of items flying away/impact on the environment. Water jets of any kind may not be sprayed at crowds along the parade route. All parade items to keep moving at a minimum of 3 km per hour. No semi-trailers are able to participate due to the turning circle.
